Cynthia has been editing Environmental Health News since 2004.  Her environmental career began two decades earlier as the editor of Environment Times magazine at New York’s science-oriented Stuyvesant High School.

At Harvard College, Cynthia majored in environmental science and public health policy; at Harvard Law School she focused on international and environmental law; and at the Harvard School of Public Health she concentrated on environmental and occupational health.

Cynthia has worked in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.  Her efforts have included co-authoring a report on biologically-based pest controls for the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment; overseeing chemical- and radiation-safety programs at weapons facilities for the US Department of Energy; coordinating legislative activities for the Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health; and engaging in international chemical-treaty negotiations on behalf of the toxics program of the World Wildlife Fund.  Her most scenic job was to develop a plan for waste management in the Galapagos Islands.

Cynthia and her family reside in the Washington, D.C. area.  She is an avid runner and biker.
